Case styles explained

Each style has its own job:

  • Title Case — capitalizes major words and keeps short words like “and”, “of” and “the” lowercase unless they’re first or last.
  • Sentence case — capitalizes only the first letter of each sentence (and the word “I”).
  • camelCase and PascalCase — join words with capital letters, common in JavaScript, Java and C#.
  • snake_case and CONSTANT_CASE — join words with underscores, common in Python and databases.
  • kebab-case — joins words with hyphens, used for URLs, file names and CSS classes.

What is title case?

Title case capitalizes the important words in a title. Short articles, conjunctions and prepositions (a, an, the, and, of, in, to…) stay lowercase unless they’re the first or last word.

How do I fix text typed in Caps Lock?

Paste it in and choose Sentence case — everything becomes lowercase except the first letter of each sentence.

Does it keep my line breaks?
